Scrawl It is Live!
Our vision and what's next
Our vision
We’re on a mission to help knowledge workers be more focused, and that journey starts today with the launch of Scrawl It. Scrawl It is a productivity app that helps you take down quick notes and ideas throughout the day, and sends them all to you at the end of the day in an email. Why an email? Well, it’s a really simple way to notify you and it allows you to review the notes whenever you are ready. You can easily save the ones you want in a more permanent note-taking or project management app, and then just delete the email when you are done (like checking items off of a to-do list). Or you can use your email as a storage archive for your notes. That’s part of the beautiful simplicity of using email, you are already familiar with it, used to checking it (hopefully), and it has been around long enough to have a robust ecosystem of integrated tooling and services. One tip: Scrawl It works best when you make it a part of your daily workflow, so take the first month to really establish your habit of using Scrawl It. Don’t worry about what you write down or staying organized, just use it to take some notes.

We seriously appreciate all our alpha users taking the time to test out the application and give us valuable feedback.
What’s next?
We have a ton of improvements planned. The first one will be our first companion app implementation via Electron (or some other native app bundler). That will enable you to truly use Scrawl It the way we always intended. It will allow us to deploy native apps on Windows, MacOS, and Linux. More importantly it gives the app the capability of creating global shortcuts at the operating system level. This is what truly delivers on the promise of Scrawl It by allowing you to stay focused by just using the keyboard shortcut to scrawl your note and then go right back to what you were doing. No more time spent hunting for your notes tab in your browser or picking up your phone and getting distracted by some other notification.
We are also going to be collecting lots of feedback to know which direction to take the app. We have a ton of ideas, as we are building it for us too, but want to be sure that we build something that truly helps you stay focused and in the flow state. If we aren’t delivering on that promise, or could do a better job at fulfilling that mission, let us know!
We will obviously also be fixing lots of bugs as they come up. Alpha testing can reveal a lot, but sometimes things still slip through the cracks. Be sure to let us know if you encounter any issues by emailing us at [email protected]!
