About Us
Phones have become a major distraction with all of the notifications from the applications we use. Attention and time are your most valuable resources. That's why so many companies are trying to find ways to capture it. If they have your attention, they can make money off of you one way or another. Whether it be through selling you something, displaying advertisements, or invoking certain emotions that influence your decision-making on everyday purchases. It is very difficult to be diligent about tuning your notification preferences to exactly what you want. Unsubscribing from emails is buried in the fine print. Newly installed apps enable notifications by default. Even web apps have started adding popups asking to send you desktop notifications.
That's where Scrawl It comes in.
Built by engineers for engineers and other knowledge workers. Scrawl It was formed out of a desire for a more focused note-taking app. The founders, Casey and Joel, both easily get distracted. We needed a way to take notes without opening an entirely separate application or picking up our phones. Something that tightly integrated with our existing workflows. We are both keyboard power users, so something that could be easily opened with a keyboard shortcut was a perfect solution. But we didn't want to stop there. Some developers might want it integrated directly into their IDEs and some people might love browser extensions. That is why we have built so many companion apps. We wanted to meet knowledge workers wherever they were. We wanted to seamlessly integrate with existing workflows and tools, not force people to change their operating procedure.
